Amanda Way is an investor on the Health Team at Emerson Collective, the family office of Laurene Powell Jobs that leverages venture capital, policy, and philanthropy to enable the most underserved communities to live to their fullest potential. The venture arm of the Health Team primarily makes early stage investments in the oncology space – Amanda focusing on therapeutics, diagnostics and research tools for 3 years, recently pivoting to focus on digital health over the past year. Amanda also serves as the co-lead for the Healthcare Vertical at the Emerging Venture Capital Association (EVCA). Prior to Emerson Collective, Amanda studied neuroscience at Brown University – working in the Assad Lab on the optogenetic investigation of neural rhythms and learning, as an EMT, and co-founded a cystic fibrosis focused company that reduces bacterial growth on nebulizers.
