Sarah Alexander is a Venture Partner at Andav Capital, an New York-based venture capital firm for early stage tech-enabled companies. Previously, as an investment banker in Houlihan Lokey’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications group, Ms. Alexander provided financial advisory services to companies including Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), ShopNBC, and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Ms. Alexander spent the majority of the past decade working at leading multinational toy manufacturing company, Mattel, where she was Head of the Global Consumer Products Finance team and utilized her expertise in financial planning and analysis, product development, and brand marketing. In addition, she led the finance team for Mattel's marquee Barbie brand, where she partnered closely with global management teams to set targets, manage budgets, analyze product economics, develop GAAP and non-GAAP financials, and approve deals with inventors, celebrities, and entertainment companies during the greatest restructuring of the Barbie line in company history. She also structured and managed hundreds of licensing deals to sell Mattel products in over 150 countries and 100+ product subcategories.
Earlier in her career, she worked at the social commerce company Beachmint (backed by VC investors Accel Partners, NEA, and Goldman Sachs) and in marketing at Fanscape. Ms. Alexander holds an MBA with Honors from UCLA's Anderson School of Management where she studied finance and entrepreneurship and a B.S. summa cum laude in Finance and Management from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
