Grand Prize: Cyprio

Cyprio, a Paris-based company redefining predictive research tools for drug and toxicity testing in the human liver, won the $50,000 grand prize.

Women Who Tech’s ninth Women Startup Challenge showcased 10 of the best early stage women-led healthtech startups from across Europe, and those in the U.S. with a presence in Europe. The event, which was held at Hôtel de Ville in Paris on October 7, 2019, was supported by Johnson & Johnson Innovation–JLABS and Craig Newmark Philanthropies, and was cohosted by the Office of the Mayor of Paris.

Cyprio won the Women Startup Challenge Europe Healthtech

Cyprio was awarded the grand prize of $50,000 for their “BioPearl technology,” a breakthrough in tissue engineering allowing the fabrication of 3D micro-tissues of human organs as a more representative and predictive research tool for drug efficacy and toxicity screening, fundamental research and, ultimately, in cell therapy.
